To All,
Our primary purpose in having the Show & Pull has been to bring the community of Turin together with an event that we and the Town could be proud of and that would provide pleasant memories. However, recent events appear to endanger accomplishing this purpose. Three weeks ago I did not hesitate to tell people that the 2020 Show & Pull would happen as usual on August 15th. However, since that time the presence of Covid-19 has become more prevalent across Georgia and our Nation and at a much faster pace. The major headline and article on the front page of the July 11th edition of the Newnan Times Herald gave alarming information from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency. Also on the front page was an article that announced the cancellation of the 2020 Coweta County Fair.
Social distancing and enforcement of wearing mask is virtually impossible at our show, especially under the Pavilion and tents where many of our staff prepare and serve food and sell t shirts, and our spectators gather in large numbers. Due to this condition, which is prime for the spread of the virus, we cannot place these people in that environment.
Accordingly, the 2020 Show & Pull is hereby cancelled. We look forward to continuing with our 2021 Show & Pull on August 21, 2021.
